Not shoes
Mud: Just a consequence of Glastonbury, or something much much more.
Mud contains much, much aluminium. So much, in fact, that the metal is a serious competitor for most common metal in the earths crust.
Mud is also an acronym, a TLA in fact, for Multi-User-Dungeon. This term is falling out of use however, when compared to the more popular MMORPGs.
Someone covered in mud could be described as 'mudded.' If, I suppose, the mud had arrived by deliberate means. Perhaps otherwise the more usual muddy would be more appropriate and accurate.
Now I'm slightly drunk, and I'm going to bed.
Comments:
You missed out the vital "Muddied"... which can be applied to someone, inaccurately, but neverheless effectively, as being covered in mud... or it can be used metaphorically, to describe someones reputation... "so and so's reputation has been 'muddied' by the the descovery that 'blah'"... clear as (muddy)ditchwater really.... :o)
